Stronger Together, Healthier Together, Building Together

Pacific Community of Alaska develops and strengthens Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander communities across the state. We build capacity through health and wellness, civic engagement, economic empowerment, and programs that bridge generations while honoring traditional values.

We see a future where Alaskan Pacific Islander families share a healthy lifestyle, where every community member can access culturally competent services close to home, and where our community has strong pathways to wellness, opportunity, and connection.

Why Your Support Matters

Alaska is home to more than 16,000 Native Hawaiians and Pacific Islanders. PCA was one of the first organizations created to serve this community, and we remain on the leading edge of work that is grounded in Pasifika values and shaped by the people we serve. Families still face real barriers to medical care, mental health support, and basic services. Roughly one in eight NH/PI Alaskans has no health insurance, and many rely on family members to translate at doctor's appointments, in classrooms, and when filling out forms.

Community members have told us directly what they need most: medical care, mental health services, domestic violence support, and help accessing resources in a language they understand.

What Your Gift Makes Possible

In the past year, PCA:

  • Hosted 49 events including health and resource fairs reaching 4,500 community members
  • Delivered 72 group programs through offerings like Helemai, Step into Wellness, and Pearls of Health
  • Provided direct, one-on-one support to approximately 400 individuals, connecting them to resources and essential services

Your gift helps us expand health education, advocate for culturally competent medical care, broaden access to translation services, and grow programs that serve Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander families across Alaska.

Be Part of the Community

Tauhi Va means to nurture relationships and create harmony through mutual exchange. When you give to PCA, you become part of that exchange. Change starts with you, and it grows when we build together.
